Paul Harvey – “If I were the Devil” appeared in his newspaper column in 1964:

If I Were the Devil If I were the Prince of Darkness I would want to engulf the whole earth in darkness.

I’d have a third of its real estate and four-fifths of its population, but I would not be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree.

So I should set about however necessary, to take over the United States.

I would begin with a campaign of whispers.

With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whispers to you as I whispered to Eve, “Do as you please.”

To the young I would whisper “The Bible is a myth.” I would convince them that “man created God,” instead of the other way around. I would confide that “what is bad is good and what is good is square.”

In the ears of the young married I would whisper that work is debasing, that cocktail parties are good for you. I would caution them not to be “extreme” in religion, in patriotism, in moral conduct.

And the old I would teach to pray — to say after me — “Our father which are in Washington.”

Then I’d get organized.

I’d designate an atheist to front for me before the highest courts and I’d get preachers to say, “She’s right.”

With flattery and promises of power I would get the courts to vote against God and in favor of pornography.

Thus I would evict God from the courthouse, then from the schoolhouse, then from the Houses of Congress.

Then in his own churches I’d substitute psychology for religion and deify science.

If I were Satan I’d make the symbol of Easter an egg

And the symbol of Christmas a bottle.

If I were the Devil I’d take from those who have and give to those who wanted until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. Then my police state would force everybody back to work.

Then I would separate families, putting children in uniform, women in coal mines and objectors in slave-labor camps.

If I were Satan I’d just keep doing what I’m doing and the whole world go to hell as sure as the Devil.

“If I Were the Devil” is a form of social criticism, an essay that postulates what steps the devil might take in order to corrupt human civilization (and the United States in particular) and lead it down the path of darkness — before delivering the catch that all the steps listed are phenomena that are already taking place in the world today. It was written and popularized by national radio commentator and syndicated columnist Paul Harvey, who from the mid-1960s onwards featured it in both media many times over the course of his long career, periodically updating it to incorporate current trends:

I bought a bird feeder, hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. Within a week we had flocks of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free food. But then the birds started building nests all over, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the shit, it was everywhere!

Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket, and others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed all hours of the day, demanding I fill it when it got low on food.

After a while, I couldn’t sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and viola! The birds stopped coming, I cleaned up their mess and took down the nests.

Thankfully, the back yard is like it used to be, quiet, peaceful and a joy to relax on after a hard days work, with no birds demanding a free meal.

Now lets compare. Our government gives out free food, free and subsidized housing, free medical care, free education, free cell phones, free bus passes, etc. etc. Anyone born here of illegal immigrants becomes an automatic citizen, who can vote for more liberals to give out more and more free stuff. .

Biden has opened the door to any and all who illegally cross our border, 11.22 million in  2021 alone, including terrorists, drug cartels, human smugglers . Those on the left think illegals should be allowed to vote, perhaps there aren’t enough dead people to keep them in office?

The illegals are coming and will keep flooding our country by the millions, with no sign of enforcement of our immigration law. Our taxes keep going up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; Your child’s second grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn’t speak English.

Customs,  Border, Protection encounters thus far in 2022  stand at over a million, with over 80,000 of these suspect individuals released into the country.

Groceries come in a multilingual packages; I have to ‘press one’ to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than Old Glory are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free everything.

Maybe it’s time for the government to take down the bird feeder. Vote for conservative candidates, they are our best last chance to bring America back to sanity. Not for someone else because you didn’t like the other guys tweets!

The current hysteria over COVID 19, and the focus of our government, echos what I wrote in 2019 regarding the then measels outbreak. In fact pretty much everything published from the beginning and on is relevant to todays’ state of the union, but in spades. The idiot is in charge of the asylum, God help us!

Are we on the brink of another Civil war? The left and the never Trumpers are bringing us precariously close. Conservatives are being accused of doing exactly what the left wing liberals are promoting. We suffered through 8 years of Obama, quietly waiting for the chance to elect a conservative minded, America loving President. We never dreamed of or stooped to the tactics the left is using in an attempt to remove our President and denigrate his supporters, while ignoring the crimes and transgressions committed by defeated Hillary. They call for and commit violence against us, saying we’re white supremacists, misogynists, anti LGBT, racist, and more, comparing us to Hitler, rationalizing said violence with hollow accusations of how evil we are without any facts to back those accusations up, pretending to know what we believe. They’re advocating physical confrontation and attacks on all conservatives especially on Republican Senators and Congressmen. Those calls are rationalized by rhetoric without any substantive proof of actuality, coming not only from those blinded by mainstream medias biased reporting but also from several elected officials of the Democratic party, without a single other party official calling them out! Donald Trump was duly elected while criminal Hillary was defeated, so goes the will of the American people. God hope for a red wave in November!

What are they afraid of, an America where we abide by the Constitution that has made our country a shining beacon of the free world for the past 242 years, or are they wanting us to be another Venezuela where socialism has failed miserably for the masses but those in power have all the power they crave and they’re craving power? Rationalized by claiming it’s too important to stop President Trump and his agenda and anything else they believe will gain them followers when nothing but the opposite is true. Look at the positive effect on our country since Trump took office, economy, jobs, our place as leader of the free world instead of just another country embracing socialism, etc.

Our youth has been indoctrinated by socialist and communist propaganda while those of us believing in American values relied on facts to prevail, however they haven’t. I pray “One Nation Under God, Indivisible with liberty and justice for all ” will survive.

Talking about the dramatic negative effect on women’s health if Planned Parenthood is defunded.

Last year Planned Parenthoods performed over 330,000 abortions.  Planned Parenthood claims that abortion counts for a mere 3% of it’s “services”, yet according to its most recent annual report, abortions actually accounted for 94% of its pregnancy-related services (abortion, adoption referral, and prenatal services).” How do they justify their 3% number? Here’s how, Planned Parenthood, in fact, counts every single service — down to each pregnancy test it administers — as one service. Therefore, a woman who comes in for an abortion might receive a pregnancy test, an STD test, and birth control on top of her real reason for showing up at Planned Parenthood. But to get that impressively small 3 percent statistic, Planned Parenthood counts that woman’s visit as four services — not as one abortion, therefore each other category received a credit as well, obfuscating the true facts.

“Planned Parenthood’s own numbers prove it’s an abortion corporation, focused on abortion, not on women’s health care. Planned Parenthood doesn’t perform a single mammogram, and it performs less than 2 percent of all women’s cancer screenings in the United States, yet it commits over 30 percent of America’s abortions,” Perhaps even more stunning, Planned Parenthood performs 160 abortions for every one time it receives an adoption referral.

I wonder what the breakdown of  prenatal care vs. abortion by race  is, my guess is that Planned Parenthood is following their founder’s wishes – Quote “We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities.  The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal.
